Reliable Effluent, Water & Surface Water Treatment for Industry

As Bangladesh industrializes, water pollution and industrial waste management have become pressing concerns. Textile, dyeing, pharmaceutical, and food units generate thousands of liters of effluent (industrial wastewater) every day. Every industry generates different wastewater, so no single treatment process fits every factory. Released untreated, this water harms the environment and public health alike.

This is where CSD Engineers partners with you. We deliver complete, turnkey treatment plant solutions — covering the design, construction, installation, and maintenance of ETP, WTP, and SWTP systems — keeping your factory environmentally safe, legally compliant, and economically sustainable.

Our Services

Every industry generates different wastewater, and no single treatment process fits every factory. That is why every solution we design starts with laboratory analysis of your actual water. We study each project’s nature and water characteristics to deliver a customized solution. Our three core services are detailed separately below.

Plant What It Does Primary Use
ETP Treats polluted industrial effluent (wastewater) Textile, dyeing, washing, tannery, pharma
WTP Makes groundwater/supply water usable & potable Boiler feed, process & drinking water
SWTP Treats surface water from rivers/ponds Industrial- & potable-grade water source

Industrial Effluent Treatment — ETP (Effluent Treatment Plant)

Custom effluent management systems for textile, dyeing, washing, tannery, pharma, and chemical industries. Our treatment process is structured stage by stage:

  • Screening: Removal of large solid waste.
  • Equalization: Balancing flow and water quality.
  • Chemical Treatment: Pollutant removal via coagulation and flocculation.
  • Biological Treatment: Organic load reduction using MBBR / SBR / ASP technology.
  • Secondary Clarification: Sludge separation to recover clarified water.
  • Filtration & Disinfection: Final polishing and safe discharge.

Where required, we add a Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) system — ensuring no wastewater is discharged outside the plant, achieving 100% water recycling.

ETP Plant Cost in Bangladesh (Key Factors)

The cost of an ETP plant is never a fixed figure — it varies with each factory’s needs. The key factors are:

  • Daily Effluent Volume (m³/day): The higher the capacity, the larger the plant and cost.
  • Pollution Load (BOD/COD/TDS): Heavier pollution requires additional treatment stages.
  • Treatment Technology: Conventional biological vs. ZLD/RO — cost varies by technology.
  • Automation Level: PLC/SCADA automation raises upfront cost but lowers long-term operating cost.
  • Civil Construction & Site Conditions: Tanks, foundation, and land type affect build cost.

For an accurate, transparent budget, we provide a customized quotation after a site survey and water lab test — with no hidden costs.

Design & Execution Process

Every reliable treatment plant starts with laboratory analysis — not guesswork. Because each factory’s wastewater is different, every solution we design begins with a real water-sample test. We follow these stages:

Site Visit
Water Sampling
Laboratory Analysis
Process Design
Client Approval
Civil & Mechanical Construction
Commissioning
O&M Support

Design Standards & Tools

Our designs are never guesswork — every plant is engineered to recognized national and international codes:

  • DoE Guidelines — Department of Environment (Bangladesh) discharge standards.
  • BNBC — Civil and structural design per the Bangladesh National Building Code.
  • ASTM & AWWA — Water treatment and material-testing standards.
  • IS Codes — Indian Standard codes where applicable.

For design and drawings we use AutoCAD, engineering calculation sheets, and hydraulic design tools, making every process step precise and verifiable.

Water Quality Parameters We Ensure

We routinely verify through lab testing whether treated water meets DoE standards. The key parameters:

Parameter What It Indicates Why It Matters
pH Acidity/alkalinity of water Safe discharge and reuse
BOD Level of organic pollution Biological treatment efficiency
COD Level of chemical pollution Overall pollution control
TSS Suspended solid particles Water clarity and filtration
TDS Dissolved solids Reuse and RO requirement

Frequently Asked Questions (ETP/WTP FAQ)

1. How long does it take to build an ETP?

Depending on the plant’s capacity and complexity, an ETP typically takes 3 to 6 months from design to commissioning. Smaller WTPs can be completed comparatively faster.

2. What does the cost of an ETP depend on?

The cost depends on the daily effluent volume (m³/day), the pollution load (BOD/COD), the required treatment technology (Biological/ZLD), and the level of automation. We provide a custom quotation after a site survey.

3. Is an ETP mandatory for the Department of Environment (DoE)?

Yes. In Bangladesh, a functional ETP is mandatory for pollution-generating (Red Category) industries to obtain and renew DoE clearance.

4. Can treated water be reused?

Yes. With proper design and ZLD/RO technology, treated water can be reused for floor cleaning, gardening, or in the process — significantly reducing water costs.

5. What is the difference between ETP, WTP, and SWTP?

An ETP treats polluted industrial effluent; a WTP makes groundwater/supply water usable; and an SWTP converts surface water from rivers or ponds into industrial- and potable-grade water.

6. What is the difference between MBBR and SBR?

MBBR (Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor) is compact and ideal for continuous treatment, while SBR (Sequencing Batch Reactor) treats water in batches with high-quality output. We recommend the right technology based on your space, load, and budget.

7. How many operators and how much power does an ETP need?

A medium ETP typically needs 1–3 trained operators. Power consumption depends on blowers, pumps, and automation load — proper design and energy optimization can reduce it significantly.

8. How is the generated sludge managed?

Sludge is dewatered using a thickener and filter press or sludge drying bed, then disposed of safely in line with DoE guidelines.

9. What is the annual maintenance cost (AMC)?

AMC depends on plant capacity, technology, and chemical usage. We offer customized annual maintenance packages for each plant.

10. Who needs a Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) system?

ZLD is most suitable for industries with strict discharge limits, high water costs, or a need for 100% recycling — such as textile and dyeing units.

11. How does a DoE inspection work?

DoE officers inspect the plant, collect treated-water samples, and verify parameters (pH, BOD, COD, TSS). We help keep your compliance documentation and test reports ready.
